A/P Rudolf Meier obtained his Biologie Diploma from the Freie Universität Berlin (1991), his MS from Tulane University (New Orleans, USA; 1989), and his PhD from Cornell University (Ithaca, USA; 1995). He was a Kalbfleisch research fellow at the American Museum of Natural History (New York) from 1995-1997 before returning to Europe to join the staff of the Zoological Museum of Copenhagen University (Denmark) as associate professor. In 2002 he moved to Singapore where he is now an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences and University Scholars Programme of NUS. His main interests are evolutionary biology, phylogenetics, and biodiversity.
