Rudolf Meier features in a soon-to-be-released video commissioned by the Office of Admissions. He gave a short interview, filmed at the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research, describing NUS as a “University of Opportunities”, highlighting the UROPS programme and the small classroom instruction available at USP and SPS.
“With grit, determination and lots of hardwork, Nalini Puniamoorthy was selected into the NUS’ University Scholars Programme (USP) in the year 2002. She is pursuing a degree in Life Sciences at the National University of Singapore. Nalini is also a Vasantham Central artiste. She has been performing regularly in Vasantham Central’s variety programmes since 2003. “I was just an average student, but I told myself that I have to work hard in order to be successful. I am very grateful as my parents support in everything I do, including singing while I’m studying”, says Nalini. Nalini was also the President of the NUS’ Tamil Language Society in 2003. She worked with SINDA to set up ‘A’ Levels tuition programme. Her success story will be one of many stories to be featured in Vasantham Central’s new series, Thil Thil Manathil [Courage of the Heart].” Nalini’s interview appeared on Thil Thil Manathil on Vasantham Central on the 5th of February, 2005.
